I bought this at a restaurant in Toulouse. This needed a little air at first, but it was sumptuous and savory that opens up into tones of black cherries, raspberries, licorice, pipe tobacco, crushed rocks, cedar, wild flowers, spice notes, dried herbs. The Full bodied feel is broad shouldered with restrained power that is backed up by crisp, medium+ acidity and resolving, medium+ tannins. I don’t have much (read close to any) experience with aged Madiran, but this is pretty sexyy right now!

BTG at Les 110 de Taillevent in Paris. Super-impressive. I’d requested an earthy red to complement the cheese plate, and was a bit trepidatious with this recommendation. Turns out the rec outperformed handily. The tannins and peppery, savory fruit were in fine balance. I need to find more of these.

Still full of freshness and can easaly be kept in the cellar for several years. It was a perfect companion to deer beef with juniper.

No notes. But more pleasant and smoother than 5 years ago.
