Tuesday, December 14, 2021 - First half, decanted half an hour. The nose was at first diagreeably dirty and rotten, then deep fragrances of rose-tinted dark fruit became more prominent. In the mouth it was angular and somewhat incoherent, the sweetness, the acidity and the tannin seeming to arrive at the palate at different times. Some lovely aspects while others seemed less good. The fill in the bottle was surprisingly low (top shoulder).
Second half from recorked half-bottle, a day later: Decanted briefly. At the proper temperature this is now a lot better. Beautiful dark floral and spicy nose. Silky harmonious taste, fairly light, very fine now. So needs some air.
