91 Points

Tuesday, July 24, 2018 - Medium golden colour. Nose with burnt butter, caramel, candied sugar, some dried apricot and hints of smoke. Sweet (but not intensely so), fine concentration of fruit with citrus and apricot compote, botrytis notes, high acidity that provides balance, and some minerality. Aftertaste with apricot, some green apple, and fresh acidity. Still youngish on the palate, 91 pts.

The nose of this wine deviates from the old rule of thumb, that Rieslaner is quite similar to Riesling. On the palate, it is closer to Riesling.
