Thursday, December 31, 2009 - Fun New Years Eve horizontal tasting of 2004 HB Baroota, Kangaroo Island and McLarenvale Shiraz. Baroota was deep garnet in color with lots of fruit and pecan on the pallet, softening and losing some of its edge over a couple of hours. Kangaroo Island was more of a ruby color with a lot of spice (pepper) on the pallet. McLarenvale was almost a cross between the two. Color was similar to Baroota with lots of fruit and some spice but none of the pecan overtones of the Baroota.
