Friday, November 11, 2022 - Very nicely balanced WA syrah in its prime, perhaps lacking just a little in complexity, it was nevertheless enjoyably delicious. This cool year syrah's tannins are fully resolved and ultra-smooth, and the judicious oak usage leaves no vanilla accents that might otherwise mar such a wine.
Touches of black olive (which I love) and other savory notes combine with blue/black fruits on the palate.
I may slightly prefer the 2010 Gramercy Walla Walla by a hair, but this was no slouch.
