I would agree with other reviewers that this is certainly in a great spot. A tiny bit of rim variation led me to believe this was in its early peak. Took about 30-45 mins in the decanter to get to its zenith. Great plummy fruit notes waft, with earthy smoke, black fruit, dried beef, and pepper. Really balanced wine with a great finish too.

Very nicely balanced WA syrah in its prime, perhaps lacking just a little in complexity, it was nevertheless enjoyably delicious. This cool year syrah's tannins are fully resolved and ultra-smooth, and the judicious oak usage leaves no vanilla accents that might otherwise mar such a wine.
Touches of black olive (which I love) and other savory notes combine with blue/black fruits on the palate.
I may slightly prefer the 2010 Gramercy Walla Walla by a hair, but this was no slouch.

Initially, my comment was this isn’t a style of Syrah I seek out. Not that it isn’t delicious (because it is), but normally from WA/OR, I want some funk. That being said, the more I drank from the bottle, the more I scratched my head thinking “wow, this is better than I thought”. This is an in between of cool climate Cali Syrah + non funk driven WA state Syrah. I didn’t pick up a lot of stem inclusion here regarding greenness. Cracked black pepper, black currant, loads of violet/potpourri and some spiced jelly aromatics. The palate, over the course of 8hrs in the bottle, blossomed to a profile of herb crusted blackberries, jerky, spiced rhubarb and a crunchy/tannic bite on the finish that brings you back to Syrah. Delicious now, but probably has another 2-3yrs until peak.

Exciting syrah aromatics -- rubber, black olive, and black pepper. Excellent typicity. Sweet blueberries and blackberries on the palate. Light and drinkable with low tannins. I prefer a rougher, more tannic style.

A bit watery on opening, but after an hour or two decant the mid-palate filled out nicely. Well balanced, nice finish. Dark fruit, spice, bramble, touch of meat. Bright on the finish. Pleasant, just not all that exciting.

This is in a fantastic place right now. Layers of blackberry, smoke, tar and floral notes. After maybe an hour a slightly briny and meaty notes developed with a pleasant salinity. The wine is silky smooth with a long finish and vibrant acidity...very vibrant.

Inky black in appearance, smell and flavors, but well put together. A brooding nose of black fruit compote and rocks with a soft gameyness. The flavors are black fruit, black olive, charred meat and tar. Very fine-grained tannins, good acidity. It has more in common with Cornas than Walla Walla.

Well made. Inky purple with that brighter violet edge you often see on Syrahs. Explosive bouquet of black Abd blue fruit, savory herbs, BBQ, and earth. Great texture and mouthfeel with a lengthy finish. Tannin were well integrated and acidity seemed perfect. It felt light even though it was a big Syrah. Well done and highly recommended.

A little closed upon opening, although I have to say that before drinking I had it sitting next to me and I could smell the beautiful aromas even from a distance. Had it with Lamb chops and paired just perfrctly.

Purple. Large nose of black raspberry jam. Complex flavors of black raspberry, cherry, smoke and minerals. The acidity is well done balancing all of the components and the finish is long and exuberant. These Syrahs seem to fly under the radar but are beautifully done

Well-made, with all of the classic Syrah notes on both nose and palate; but the oak was a bit proud for my tastes. I suggest allowing these to sleep for a couple more years in the cellar, or else, decant for 6-8 hours before serving. It retains enough acidity to look out for itself for quite a while yet.

Notes comparable to others posted here. The pepper is prominent on the nose, with a bit of cedar, graphite, leather, and dark fruit notes coming and going as we drank it (decanted and consumer over 4 hours). The strength may have been the long gamey finish; a real nice, smooth Syrah. The nose was most expressive within the first few minutes of re-filling the glass, but slowly went into a shell as it sat there (until the next re-fill). I'd say there are a few years remaining here, but certainly enjoyable now.

Popped and poured. This is a medium-dark red wine, but one with significant staining power. On the nose, I get some spice, blackberry pie, and some cracked pepper. This is tangy, smooth, yet chewy in the mouth, leaving a slight bite on the finish. Overall, this is more throttled back than a lot of CA Syrah -- it reminds me of a nice St. Joseph -- and cries out for food (I'm thinking it would be great with lamb). This is nice now but should have some years left. 92 points.

Very nice Syrah from Gramercy. 2010 was a great year for the Gramercy's style of wine-making (not too ripe, minimal intervention). A fantastic nose of bright blue fruits (I kept smelling it and smelling it, and my wife asked me if I was ever going to taste it). On the palate, it's got a well-structured presentation of blue and black fruits with a subtle pepper component, and a beautiful and lengthy finish. A really complete wine with all elements working together. Drinking nicely now with a bit of decanting or air, but probably a bit better in a year or so.

fits right into the Gramercy profile for syrah...high acidity, bountiful blueberry and coffee notes, with saline underpinning. Seems like it has years of life - tough to say if the pepper and meat flavors that can come with syrah are buried here and will come with time.

Brett's B-Day Bash: Well, this definitely stood out stylistically from the bunch, but Gramercy Syrah is always a welcome addition to any tasting. Love this style of Syrah. Cool blueberry baked goods, and blueberry pancakes. Gray peppercorns, smoked meat and touches of purple floral elements. A sure winner as one of my early tastes of Gramercy Rhone.

Aromas of red cherries with subtle hints of flowers. This wine is light on its feet with high notes of red fruits and some charcoal. There is a rush of flavors through the middle but quickly dissipates at the end. The tannins are soft and caressing, and the acid is just barely noticeable along with fruit. I suspect the wine may add a little more weight with further aging, but as it stands it is wonderfully balanced and quite light for a Syrah at this stage.
The wine complemented the BBQ Rib Eye Fillet and some cheese aftrwards afterwards.

Notes from day 2. Dark red to purple in color. Nose of black fruit, blueberry skins, licorice, graphite, seared meat. Palate of dark fruits, black raspberry, black currant, herb, earth, seared meat, coffee. The finish was long in length really nice mouthfeel. Overall this wine was fantastic, the nose was really strong and the acidity and structure was impeccable. Cornas under another name. Wow. Cured meats and vibrancy on the palate, a touch of sweetness on the tougne. Ok, rather, more like Cote Rotie. Tannins are present but really resolve on the finish. Young, but shows the potential on that finish as well. Singing acidity on the back end too.

Wonderful big rich, smooth wine. Mocha and balsamic with fine tannins. Drinking well now, no doubt it will get better.

Will be holding the other bottles for quite some time as it will need more time to show more complexity.
Hold: 50+5+14+17+8

Couldn't wait to try the latest lagniappe, and I was richly rewarded. Drinking surprisingly well at this young age. Nose developed nicely over the two days while the palette remained virtually unchanged. Great stuff.
