Community Tasting Note

Sunday, May 3, 2020 - What an interesting wine! Not quite CA and not quite Bordeaux. Purchased for a virtual tasting hosted by Acker Merrill with the new CEO of Heitz Cellars. Mint and reddish black fruit on the nose, all leather and smoke and tobacco from the first taste through the finish. My initial inclination was that I preferred the Heitz Trailside, which we also tasted (more traditional Napa Cab, but also with a subtle twist), but in time this really grew on me and prevailed as the better wine.
