Monday, February 1, 2021 - Very hot year in the Douro which produced wines (in theory) not designed for long ageing. Cloudy in the eyes with macerated ripe fruit, rock rose and a chemical edge (sort of interesting). It's full of life in it but a bit disjointed, with some spiky sour tannins though still somehow pleasureble and structured. It's hard to say if it's going downhill or still needing more time to gain the balance missing at this point. The energy is there for the waiting just can't say if it will lead the wine to better shores.
