Wednesday, July 22, 2020 - This deep red/garnet wine is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, aged for 17 months in French oak (70% new). Assessed by serial sampling of a pristinely cellared magnum that had been double-decanted (allowing two hours in decanter prior to funneling back into the cleansed magnum), it oozes with dark bramble fruits, baking spices, mocha, licorice, pipe tobacco and savory herbs. Full-bodied and with low-to-medium acidity, it wraps its flavors with silky-textured tannins and just the right amount of toasted oak. Layered on the middle palate and finishing long, this is nothing short of liquid hedonism. Those holding well-cellared magnums will be quite pleased with this wine at any point throughout the decade. Drink now-2030.
