Friday, January 12, 2024 - Last minute wine lunch meetup at SSG. My bottle. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Thin legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of aromatic red cherry fruit, fragrant earth, transparent minerality, some sweet tea leaf herbs with more air. Developed.
On the palate, dry, lovely high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium- tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of elegant red cherries, strawberry, stony minerality, sweet tea leaf herbs, light earth. Crispy long crystalline finish.
Very very good quality. Probably drinking as good as it gets though this bottle definitely felt like there was no danger of going downhill anytime soon. On the thin side but so elegant that it leaves you marveling at its transparency and whimsicality. Practically impossible to place it as a Savigny in a blind.
