Didn't drink this side by side with the other version, but stylistically this felt different - richer nose from the pop with brown sugar / oatmeal cookies. On the palate, at first seemed sterner, briar-like but then fairly quickly softened. Nice long finish with gently persistent tannins and some more of that sugar/cookie on the finish. Seems high quality and look forward to doing a side-by-side of the two versions in the near future. One more note, the old KL was known for their value, offering a discount to list members after a few (three?) years - the new version is priced a little higher ($63 vs $49) so I'm not ready to say yet how the value compares.
