PnP, no decant needed. I really miss this winery! Such amazing, beautiful wine at an incredible price. Very aromatic with black fruit, spice, anise, earth and leather. Still has lots of fruit with black fruit, spice, anise, leather, earth, anise. Medium body leading too a long smooth silky finish. One bottle left and no hurry to open.

Drank a pair of 2010 (Mike Trujillo) with grilled lamb. The wine drank as fully mature, long legs and resolved tannins. The fruit is very reduced, perhaps muddy as a prior taster noted. Based on the 2 bottles, the 2010 probably has more to loose than gain from more cellar time. won’t. I’ll have to open one of the 2010s made by Bruce Delvin that used different grapes.

Opened 4 bottles at a dinner party. Massive nose, right in the drinking window. Amazing cal cab.
I’m not a fan of the corks, they are a light blonde and not very dense. While they have lasted the decade, I’m putting these in the drinking line as opposed to saving for much longer. BTW, these were the original issue 2010s.

Drink by date here on CT is 2021 and I want to say that appears to be somewhat accurate. I think that this wine will still have great notes through 2025, but I just don't see any need to keep this one past 2021 as I just don't see it appreciating with additional bottle age. Tonight, this was the perfect balance between youthful black fruit, licorice, and aged black fruit with a black tar, tobacco and fig note that kind of lingers a bit on the finish. The wine was very youthful on the front. But this did need probably a 30 minute decant as it had a slight green olive and herbaceous funk kind of thing at first. Settled down and showed its structure and balance for a wine that is crafted from awesome sites (Morisoli, Oakville Beckstoffer and Herb Lamb Vineyards. A really awesome price given that wines that source from these vineyards can cost 3x the price. This one is mature, ready to go, and showing welll.

PnP. I really miss this winery! Such amazing purity of fruit. Huge nose with black fruit, spice, anise, leather. Similar flavors with beautiful balance and a long smooth silky finish. Not sure what more you could wish for in a cab. And at an amazing price.

Dark in color, not showing any age. Started out a little shy in the nose,Over the first hour, it opened nicely. Black cherry, blackberry, earth, a hint of chocolate and leather. Similar flavors. Medium bodied. Nice smooth finish with silky tannins. Beautiful balance. In a really good place now. I have 3 bottles left and will open them over then next decade, but expect the wine to last longer than that.

In a very nice place right now. Opens up soft, with dark cherries and smooth palate. Puts on some weight with air, with the tell tale cedar/spicy wood flavor of KL. Tannins become more present with time, but dont dominate the gentle fruit. This is drinking at peak right now, but not fading any time soon. Very enjoyable.

Couldn't resist, had to pop one out of curiosity. Black cherry and blackberry fruit, albeit a little muted. Thick core of dark chocolate and earth notes. Decent finish, although surprised that the tannins were very soft. Need to revisit this again down the line.

Deep dark purple color. Not much on the nose going on. On the palate very good structure and balance. Tannins are starting to integrate. A solid moderate finish. Overall, it's nice nothing great but very solid

This is a great wine - but needs more time to cellar. After 4 hour decant it started to offer the power lurking there. Be patient you you'll be rewarded in 5 or ten years can be 94-95 points

Note - this bottle is the new KL, the "Resurgence" back label by new winemaker Bruce Devlin and different fruit than the original '10 from Mike Trujillo. Didn't drink this side by side with the other version, but stylistically this felt different - richer nose from the pop with brown sugar / oatmeal cookies. On the palate, at first seemed sterner, briar-like but then fairly quickly softened. Nice long finish with gently persistent tannins and some more of that sugar/cookie on the finish. Seems high quality and look forward to doing a side-by-side of the two versions in the near future. One more note, the old KL was known for their value, offering a discount to list members after a few (three?) years - the new version is priced a little higher ($63 vs $49) so I'm not ready to say yet how the value compares.

Nine months later, and I have to say I am shocked only 19 bottles have been consumed and no one has left a tasting note other than me. I think these will age, but at 5 years I consider this to be a great time to pop the cork.
Cassis, tobacco, plum fruit. Medium finish and fine tannins.

Past peak. Still drinkable, but turning muddy instead of gaining those lovely mature flavors we crave in aged cabs. Lots of chunky sediment. Drink up.

Good nose. Cassis and a bit earthy. A bit light on the palate and doesn't have much finish. Well balanced but not a knockout.

First bottle of the last vintage. Say it isn't so! It is going to be impossible to replace the QPR this represents, at least from Napa.
Beautiful plum, cassis, tobacco, and a little lead pencil. Already opening up nicely with a double decant. Medium length finish.
