Saturday, August 29, 2015 - Very, very nice. Not as good as the Clarendon Hills Liandra Syrah that it followed - during a terrific roasted duck with berry sauce dinner - but very good indeed.
Deep, dense, dark eggplant in color; a very berry nose, raspberries, cherries, licorice and spice with great balance and integration. The best finish I have had in a very long time. The spice thread in this wine actually supports the distinctive structure, carrying through the palate and completing the finish. I do not agree with WS that this is a 96, but in a couple of years, it might.
