Tuesday, April 1, 2014 - Ted's note rings true. This is a deep garnet. Beautiful nose of dark fruits, slightly jellied (NOT jammy), with some violet at just a hint of vanilla oak. Some nice Tuscan underbrush, as well. Beautifully balanced on the palate as well, as there is good acidity and moderate tannins to suppor the lovely fruit, which is just delicious. This is in the upper echelon of Chianti Classico for sure. A little young, and I think a couple years will bring a tad more complexity, but this is delicious now.
