Sunday, June 23, 2019 - As usual with Rhys, the Horseshoe Vineyard is my favorite. I have struggled with the 2011 Rhys lineup, but this is lovely. It is still marked by the vintage, but it’s a menthol/mint element, rather than an unpleasant green tone. The red fruit is elegant, and fresh, similar to a just cut berry, and there’s bit of orange peel as well. On the lighter side of medium bodied, I think it’s doing all that it can, without trying too hard.
