Monday, December 9, 2013 - Uninspiring. While this isn't a fruit-bomb Zin (good), the aromatics are attenuated and there's no depth on the palate. Simple nose of tart cherries with underlying dried fruit. The palate is balanced, starting with a burst of acidity and finishing with mild tannins. Has a bit of a sweet & sour character with pruney flavors mixing with upfront acidity. Short finish. I like the style, but the execution (at least in this lot or vintage) is lacking.
