Sunday, December 5, 2021 - Clear golden color with streaks of green at the core. Fascinating. Intense and mature nose of ripe peach, pears, almost towards pineapple, but with an underlying tone of petroleum and newly baked bread (!). Full bodied attack, coats the mouth with sweet peach and pear, but the acidity kicks in very quick, lifting the taste into something much fresher than the nose promised: lemon, lime and a chalky, dusty tone emerge at the end of the tasting curve and virtually explodes in a long, fresh and vibrant finish. What seemed a bit heavy is transformed into a fresh, young thing. Amazing, and a good example of how well these Riesling age, and how they combine power with finesse (at least in the mouth and aftertaste). At it's peak right now, but will keep for many years to come.
