Friday, June 20, 2014 - Oh dear, this is dreadful stuff. What's in here with the Pinot Noir, Petite Sirah? Really overworked, in all senses. Washed down some salmon, but it did so brutishly. Nothing elegant about this, just oak, EtOH, some more oak and very ripe, dense and soulless fruit. No doubt this hits the sweet spot for some, but to my palate, this borders on tragic for the variety, and certainly does no favors for the appellation.

Aerated to decanter 1 hour, served non-blind. Absolutely requires a serving temp < 65F; under 60F made it tolerable.
