Thursday, May 25, 2017 - A fine example of a strategy for maximizing enjoyment of a wine. If you bought a wine in quantity with high expectations that disappoints, first slowly keep retasting it for days. If that does not help, wait a year or two before opening another bottle. This high altitude Chardonnay proved to be much better with 2 years more of bottle age. Smoother, richer, and more complex and delicious. Delightfully aromatic, mouth coating, long and soothing. Tasted right beside a 2015 Verget Chablis with sharp acidity made the Schwiger seem sweeter, softer, and lower in acidity, though still very enjoyable.
