Friday, July 25, 2014 - Maybe not quite my favorite style of Chardonnay, maybe even not quite yet fully integrated. We have already tasted the 2013, which was quite fruit forward. In comparison, this one is showing a little more oak nuances, spice, and solid acid profile. There is a slight amount of bitterness on the lips and palate. Starts off with pear, apple and pineapple. Some vanilla and lanolin from oak. Gooseberry, pineapple and baking spice. A serious hit of acid. Leaves an acidic, French oak finish.
