Sunday, March 12, 2017 - It's almost been 2 years since my last bottle. Popped and decanted for under 15 min. Poured into my glass and found overall this 2012 Wallace has nicely integrated and in a perfect place. Tannins are all resolved. What's left is a balanced tasty shiraz. Usual consistent notes of ripe juicy fruit, tar, blueberries, chocolate, peppers, vanilla and oak. We paired it with a greek style meat pizza plus baked spaghetti.
Been following Wallace for over a decade and this version is up there with the other great vintages. 2004 is still my favourite. Regardless, really enjoying the 2012 vintage from Barossa.
Would drink this one within the year to next year knowing how the Wallace peaks at around 4-5 years and declines after that. Enjoy now!
