Thursday, December 24, 2015 - Choosing a wine with soups is not an easy task. I chose this one (along side of a California Viognier) to accompany a mildly spicy shrimp gumbo for a supper open house on the day after the Winter Solstice. I opened and served this bottle 30 minutes directly out of the cellar. All aspects of this pinot were enjoyable: recognizable nose, dark cherry/red raspberry note on the palate with a long finish. This wine was well received.
