Saturday, September 3, 2022 - Need to say this bottle is drinking a ton younger than the bottle of last month at MJP's event. This bottle more like a rich, big fruited '09 and does not feel its age at all. The nose is strong and exquisitely floral from the cab component here. Lots more barrel spice component than last month's bottle, too. Really nice with plenty of air. Given a 3+ hour slow ox before dinner, cork back in the bottle as we went to dinner and then we all finished it all in the 3 hours after dinner. Just a splendid wine but goes to show there is some bottle variation as far as aging.
