Thursday, December 25, 2008 - Decant and pour. Color deep garnet, made darker with extract. Prototypic merlot nose showing moderate age with a moderately generous bouquet of cherries, cocoa, and secondaries of leather and tomato. Same flavors on the palate, with an earthy finish including black olive. Low acid, soft tannins, and the length was relatively short. A very pleasant merlot, nothing earth shattering. Don't remember exactly what I paid, but I believe it was 25-30, in which case this is not a great QPR.
