Friday, November 5, 2021 - Golden straw, really mature. Sweet apricot and red apples dominate the nose, with only modest hints of petroleum. Inviting, but a bit heavy. Full bodied, much fresher in the mouth than on the nose. Lots of red apples, fresh apricot, some lime and grapefruit, and a firm, fresh finish that really lifts the whole impression. Lots of extract gives an almost drying feeling in the finish. The aftertaste is fresh and sweet, in perfect balance. What initially seemed to be an old wine really shines and shows that it will have no problems with another five years in the cellar. This is just so pleasing, although I would not call it a great wine. Perfect with sashimi of Norwegian salmon.
