Golden straw, really mature. Sweet apricot and red apples dominate the nose, with only modest hints of petroleum. Inviting, but a bit heavy. Full bodied, much fresher in the mouth than on the nose. Lots of red apples, fresh apricot, some lime and grapefruit, and a firm, fresh finish that really lifts the whole impression. Lots of extract gives an almost drying feeling in the finish. The aftertaste is fresh and sweet, in perfect balance. What initially seemed to be an old wine really shines and shows that it will have no problems with another five years in the cellar. This is just so pleasing, although I would not call it a great wine. Perfect with sashimi of Norwegian salmon.

Medium yellow. Stone fruit and guava aromas. Medium body, glossy feel. Just off dry and in fact somewhat tropical, peach fruit, its underlying shape imparted by stone rather than acidity. Excellent and not quite fully mature. No secondary perfume yet, but I don't think this will go in the petrol direction.

Pale gold color. Nose of citrus, stone, grass, melon. Layers of grapefruit, white pear, lychee, and winter melon on the palate hovering over craggy stony structure with hints of petrol. Racy acidity. Longer finish of white fruit and fine gravel. Nice.

Bright golden, thick legs, almost like a sweet wine. Fascinating aromas dominated by petroleum (rather discreet), licqorice and smoke, but also a grapfruitish tone in the back. Full bodied, almost thick in the first attackt in the mouth. First, the wine seems semi-dry, but the sweetness very soon gets replaced by bracing acidity (and some alcoholic feel). The aftertaste is dominated by grapefruit and apples, smoke, as well as some earthy tones. Long, but with some alcoholic warmth. This is a wine for food, probably best with fat fish like salmon or white meat. Will probably evolve positively in the next 3-5 years, but is most likely at the optimal level of maturity now. For the fans of full bodied rieslings.
Riesling night at HaiSous (Chicago, IL): This is a wine more in the mold of what I stereotypically think of when I think of Alsace, which means it's a little bit bigger and waxier than I like it to be. Fleshy with stone fruit on the nose and palate. A bit heavier and blowsy, this isn't quite my style of riesling.

Aroma: pronounced cedar and turpentine with some spice and stewed apple notes. Palate: petrol flavors as well with balsam, quince and nutmeg. Curious. Moderate acidity and rather long. Some tropical notes on the finish.

Fresh and well balanced on the nose, tropical fruit, a touch of spicyness, yellow apples and a bit flowery. Great wine and very enjoyable now, even though it will develop well (to my taste) the coming 5-8 years.

Full yellow. Off dry, medium intensity wine lacking the depth and drive of better vintages. Not over the hill, just not all that good.

Writing this much later. Memories of a rich yet refined Riesling. More flowers and herbs than fruit. Want more!.....but I might prefer the Theo.

On a good day its an 86. Very flat and lacking in fruit. Very little aroma. Does Riesling go into a dumb phase?

Blind tasted. High intensity nose is very floral. Petrol note gave it away as Riesling. I said Mosel, but it had too much body for that.

Tasted at an exhibition. Not rated but it was too fruity and oily.
