Wednesday, June 14, 2023 - Popped and poured. This is worlds better than the last bottle I had of this wine. Maybe it was bottle shock last time, I don't know. What I do know is this bottle is drinking at peak: tannins gone, full, rich flavor, nothing off. Now, for the deep dive: Dark red and browning, with red tears on the bowl of the glass. Really lovely red fruit in the nose, with a bit of iodine and mineral. VERY nice. Super smooth, lovely, rich palate, with just lovely, beautiful flavors; rich cocoa and milk chocolate. Wow. This is almost certainly at the end of its peak, but still on the plateau and very pretty. Amazing how one bottle can vary from the next. This is wildly great, while the last bottle was very tired. TODAY: 5-13-18-9: 95/100.

6/15/2023 8:33:00 AM - Your note is killing me on this. I have a bottle and a Magnum that I bought as tests. The first bottle SUCKED. Pruny, tired...you know...So I was going to open the Magnum next. Based on this, that is just what I will do! BTW, if you are not familiar with the 2003 Chateau Bellevue, you should get acquainted. I have a mag or 2 of that too and will try to find peeps to help me drink both side by side so that I won't get too pickled! Thanks pick :-)
