Friday, August 31, 2018 - 1+ hour of air in bottle already.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon yellow colour. Legs. Fine bubbles.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of bready yeast, brioche, citrus lemon, chalky minerality, very slight white florals. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet citrus lemon drops, honey beeswax, chalky minerality, touch of cream and yellow peach. Long finish.
Very good quality. Rather youthful and will require more age to develop and integrate. Richness and grandeur but lacks the thrilling acids of the 2004.
80% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir.
From a single parcel in Rilly-la-Montage 1er Cru – ‘Les Blanches Voies Hautes’.
