Wednesday, July 13, 2011 - Golden colour. Lovely nose of sugar and spice and all things nice. Sweet nose of ripe pineapples, tropical fruit, apricots, honey, but does not smell overly sweet or unbalanced.
On the palate, great poise on the attack. Expansive, rich and deep on the palate - lots of things going on in the mid palate, big fruit but does not feel weighty. Great acidity and fruit in harmony.
On back palate, some issues with a slight applecore-like bitterness. This was from a half. Perhaps a slight problem with storage but I did see a similar issue being raised by another reader.
This was perhaps the reason why some of the other tasters (tasting blind) thought this could be rieussac or guiraud.
Probably not value for money and certainly not a perfect bottle.
