Sunday, June 4, 2017 - Tasted blind, this wine had a gold center and tan/clear rims. The high- intensity nose displayed sauteed oranges, vanilla wafers, apples, lemons, and honey.
In the mouth, this wine was rich and ripe with a gorgeous mouthfeel. It had strong acidity to buffer the rich fruit. Not surprisingly, it had stunning length.
This was one of the richest vintages of Yquem I have had. It tasted like a supercharged Rieussec from a great vintage. I loved this wine. While I doubt it will get any better, it will certainly last at this level for decades.
