Friday, November 15, 2013 - Syrah perfume on the nose that can only come from Hermitage with notes of smoke, roasted game, black fruits and dark minerals. This has gobs of gorgeous smoky black fruits but is still structured and high in acids but all is in balance for a fine evolution. The finish is already complex with notes of dark minerals and spicy game. This is a very terroir-driven vintage for this great wine and it shows beautifully now with extended airtime but really needs 5 more years for the acids to calm down. 93+
