Tuesday, October 8, 2019 - Classic Hermitage nose of roasted meats, campfire char and dark red fruits. Lots of acidity and energy in this wine with delicious flavors of blackberries, coal dust and dark spices. There is a decadence here but its hiding under the structure and the finish has a nice mineral crunch with complex notes of charcoal, smoked game and a hint of violets. Still young and a bit strict and high-toned but I do enjoy the roasted flavors immensely. 93+ Even better the second day!
