Saturday, December 31, 2011 - Tasted after an hour in a decanter. Opaque purple. Mineral, spice and rich fruit nose. Flavor is more red fruit than black, pepper, anise and earth. Classic CdP and a great match for this evening's Veal Osso Bucco. I am used to some bottle variation with this wine but tonight it seemed like my wife and I were drinking two different wines from the same bottle. She was picking up over the top funk (barnyard) to the point that she was not interested until it could be balanced with food. I was getting almost none. Strange. The score is mine with some adjustment for her very different take.
