Tuesday, December 25, 2012 - Had the 2001 and 2004 together. The 2004 was better at this time with sweet fruit and deep layered aromas of ink, smoke and some meat/horse. Fresh acidity and long finish. The 2001 was more liniear and less sweet. Very mature with tertiary notes of leather, dusty spice and pipe tobacco. High acidity and piercing finish.
