Sunday, March 25, 2007 - Very deep garnet with a touch of purple. Wild nose of plum, red and black berries mixed with herbs – this just screams southern France. The nose is very powerful – it really fills the room. Supper palate presence – initial pop of flavor is followed by layer after layer of sweet fruit and a lovely rusticity that makes this wine so special. Still so balanced. This has a depth and complexity of flavor that put the other chateauneufs from the weekend to shame. This is another testament to the greatness of the 2004 CdP (my opinion obviously). This is the best one I have tasted so far. Will only get better over the next 10 to 15 years. (96+)
