Tuesday, October 7, 2014 - The nose is so expressive, full, and rich, I could delve head first into the nose of this wine and be happy. Disclaimer, I love Rasteau wines, buyer beware : ) . Smokey, earthy on the nose. Let this open up, decant at least an hour before reaching your palate. The plate is dominate by fresh ripe fruit and less by funky, smokey, earth flavors. Medium high complexity, very nice. Finish is long, mostly dominated by some bitterness, if the length was more tracing of the aforementioned wonderfulness I would score higher.
