Ruby to garnet appearance with medium-long legs. On the nose it takes a while to open up but then reveals black plum, red capsicum,, berry bush and blueberry jam, along with a herbal element faintly reminiscent of (not spear-)mint. On the palate it is remarkably fruity given it's 9 years of age, showing similar notes as the nose, with medium+ acidity, medium- tannins (the Syrah lifting the Grenache here) and a medium body with high alcohol that is kept reasonably in check. Medium long finish, somewhat linear.
This is a 'vieilles vignes', organically grown (not sure if they are or were at the time certified), and I do get a nice sense of 'extraction', with the wine expressing interesting character. A rich, generous wine. Recommended to drink now or keep for up to another 2-3 years.

The nose is so expressive, full, and rich, I could delve head first into the nose of this wine and be happy. Disclaimer, I love Rasteau wines, buyer beware : ) . Smokey, earthy on the nose. Let this open up, decant at least an hour before reaching your palate. The plate is dominate by fresh ripe fruit and less by funky, smokey, earth flavors. Medium high complexity, very nice. Finish is long, mostly dominated by some bitterness, if the length was more tracing of the aforementioned wonderfulness I would score higher.
