Friday, February 3, 2017 - The wine is still young. It needed an hour in the decanter to open. Without the decant it was a bit disjointed with a relatively rough and astringent finish (87 points). After an hour it was rounding out and adding weight. Layers of red and black fruits were integrated and smooth. A little spice and sweet Oak added just enough to complexity to earn it at 90. I might not have given my prior tasting of this wine enough air.
