Saturday, October 7, 2023 - With the exception of the top names in St Estephe, this is an AOC which I’ve not had much “luck”.…and given the generally “poor and wet” 2013 vintage in the Left Bank, I was very hesitant to purchase this wine. I ended up “biting” on a Garagiste offer a year ago, mainly based on comments in this forum, indicating St Esrephe escaped much of the rain experienced in other portions of the Left Bank. In retrospect, I’m glad I took a chance.

Decanted for about 45 minutes. Very approachable at ten years reflecting a nice mix of black and red fruits, leather, tobacco, spice, and black moist earth. Structure is evident and in development. I like where this is at now, but I think it will improve over the next 2-3 years. Big finish. Drink now with a decant or cellar over the next 5-8 years. Excellent!
