Saturday, November 13, 2021 - opened and decanted for an hour before drinking. wine is dark ruby in color with no bricking or signs of aging. beautiful nose of balsamic, saddle leather, sous bois, and dried rose petals. a modern style barolo where surprisingly they did not go over the top with oak as has been my complaint in the past. varietal characteristics are able to shine due to the minimal oak. on the palate the wine is still primary with solid cherry fruit. over time the wine opens up nicely, gathers some weight and delights with a nice long finish. these 2010's are going to take some time to develop secondary characteristics. will wait another 3 to 5 years before opening the next bottle
