Sunday, December 5, 2021 - Epic Napa Trip - Day 1: Tasted at Chateau Montelena - My favorite wine of the tasting! Great balance between fruit and secondary flavors...plenty of dark and red fruit on the nose and palate, along with some purple flower notes on the nose. Both nose and palate showed clove and other spices, tree bark and some minerals notes, as well as wisps of toasty oak. Very nice and drinking quite well! 94 and should hold here for a while.
