Friday, January 19, 2018 - PnP, then drank over the course of two hours. It opened up quite a bit towards the end, especially on the nose. Deep garnet in color. A lot of Carignane character coming through, with the higher acidity and crunchy red fruit. Floral nose/potpourri with a minty freshness. The palate has plenty of plum, raspberry, and gamey notes, offset by a nectarine-like acidity. A touch of bitterness on the 20 second+ finish. There’s a Nebbiolo-like quality that I can’t quite put my finger on.
Super fresh and delicious, this strikes me as a very pure expression of the sandy terrior of Evangelho.
