Tuesday, March 27, 2018 - I certainly wasn't drinking what everyone else below was. No nose to speak of. Some tannins. Thinnish. After 60 minutes, the wine was fuller tasting, but certainly nothing special. Same goes for the second night. Dinner at home > hamburger. I'd bring this to dinner with non -geeks if you know what I mean.

    3/29/2018 12:58:00 PM - This wine has a lot of Mourvedre (Mataro) in it, which generally has a closed or muted phase between its youthful cherry/grapy-ness and more aged character. Tablas Creek, which uses Mourvedre in its Rhone Blends, finds the closed phase sometime between age 5 and 7, (or 6 and 8 yr) after harvest. Based on your note, I'll hold my remaining 2013 another two years.
