Friday, February 12, 2016 - After 8hrs slow ox and 1hr double decant this really came alive. Moderate mocha and liquorice aroma, and broad and intensive blackberry, cassis earth and mineral flavours. Tannins remain, but are over-shadowed by the acidity and with air the wine deepens to become deep and lush. Well-balanced and with the acidity this isn't tiring to drink at all, really helped cut through our meal as well. With about 2-3hr double decant this is ready to drink, but clearly will improve further - developing greater complexity over the next 5yrs. Lots of fine sediment, needs standing upright and double-decanting.
