2013 Zorzal Pinot Noir Terroir Unico

85 Points

Thursday, August 14, 2014 - Opened this at an outdoor party and wasn't able to discern a nose but the palate was green and not pleasant. I put the bottle in the fridge to taste the next day. After 24 hours tasted again and nose was complicated, gamey earthy red fruit with a wisp of flowers. On the palate the green was gone and tasted of sour raspberry with a long dry finish. Plenty of acidity and I didn't detect any wood. I prefer more fruit but appreciate that this is a well made wine and for $15 a great value.
