Thursday, January 7, 2016 - Deep dark purple-garnet in color; almost opaque. Full, forward, attractive & youthful nose of ripe dark fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & plums with briary overtones, earthy, spices, herbs, licorice, dark cocoa, minerals, smoky, cedar & a hint of vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced, still developing & youthful, lush, rich, ripe dark fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries and blueberries with spices, herbs, minerals, dark cocoa & a touch of creamy vanilla. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting and airing but has the fruit and structure to continue development with much needed aging. Alc. @ 14.7%; a blend of 74% Zinfandel, 16% Petite Sirah, 8% Carignane & 2% Mataro (Mourvedre).
