Wednesday, March 23, 2016 - Decanted 30 mins. ahead and sampled over the next 90 mins. Fairly deep red-garnet color. Nice nose of floral, cherry, and spice notes; shy but nice. Medium-bodied and tart on the palate, maybe too tart. Red-fruit flavors lead. The finish is drying with light tannins and pretty strong grip. This wine is not showing as well as the 2011 that I had yesterday. Maybe the acidity will ease up after a couple of years; one can hope.
