Saturday, July 11, 2015 - Pale ruby-tawny color; nose has raisins, slight heat, figs, very slight citrus peel; palate is medium-full bodied, fabulous acidity that lifts the palate, primary with plenty of fruit, black cherry, raisins, very slight nuttiness, fruit fades a bit through the midpalate, relatively simple in the spectrum of port and more primary fruit; finish is short-medium length and enjoyable. This seems like a respectable entry-level 10-year tawny at a good price, more youthful fruit than aged nutty complexity, but held back by slight heat on both the nose and the palate and lack of persistence on the palate. 84
10/5/15: Finishing the bottle now after nearly 3 months, and it is largely the same as when first opened. Don't let the "low" score fool you... this has been immensely enjoyable whenever I've had it.
