80 Points

Thursday, September 17, 2015 - Translucent yet rather dark raspberry red color. Quite big, smoky and rather savory nose with expressive aromas of crunchy cranberries, spicy Pinosity, some robust peppery spice and a hint of toasty wood. The wine is juicy, medium-bodied and rather soft on the palate with rich flavors of dark-toned sunny fruits, ripe and soft red fruits, some strawberries, a little bit of oak spice and a hint of earthy Pinosity. The wine is lacking structure with its medium acidity and mellow tannins. The finish is soft and rather sweet-toned with ripe flavors of strawberries, earthy spice, some coarse peppery Pinosity, a little bit of brambly raspberries and a hint of savory wood.

A very soft, ripe and thoroughly typical Cali Pinot. Too sweet and soft for my taste. Flavor-wise pretty true to the variety, but only too ripe, making the wine lack the playful character of good Pinot Noir. Overall pretty anonymous and boring. Definitely not worth the 17€.
