90 Points

Thursday, October 16, 2014 - IWSC Tasting with Jo Burzynska (Glengarry Victoria Park, Auckland): light ruby, clear and bright. open cherry and red fruits nose. jammy, silky tannins, fresh acidity. light/medium bodied, slightly wood touching, well balanced. dry finish with some earth and herbal notes. Yealands Estate purchased fruits from some Gibbston Valley vineyards. compare to those big names in that region, lighter than Gibbston Valley Winery and Peregrine, simpler than Brennan, however, it's quite tasty with flawless quality, good try from this Marlborough giant.

IWSC 2014 Gold, AirNZ 2014 Gold, RC 17.5-

Ap: 5/5; Ar: 13/15; Palate: 16/20; overall: 4+2/10
TOTAL: 90/100
